Schaumburg event aimed at comforting those who lost a child
The Asher James Foundation held a blanket-making event for the foundation Olivia's Blankets on Saturday at Trickster Art Gallery in Schaumburg to benefit those who have lost a child.
The foundation was founded by Jen DeBouver, a Schaumburg woman whose child was stillborn in 2011.
"Olivia's Blankets was created in memory of Olivia Madilynn, who was born sleeping," said DeBouver, president of the foundation. "Receiving blankets are cut in half, tied back together and packaged beautifully for grieving parents who experience a loss of a child. The idea is that the parents can keep half of the blanket and leave half with their child."
