Firefighter hurt, house badly damaged in Lisle blaze

Investigators from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District are probing the cause of a Saturday blaze that sent one firefighter to the hospital and left a house uninhabitable on the 2000 block of Pebble Creek Drive in Lisle.

Authorities said a passer-by reported the fire at 1:37 p.m. Saturday and the first firefighters arrived about four minutes later to find heavy fire in the roof and attic area. No family members were home at the time.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 35 minutes, but crews remained on the scene for several hours to perform salvage duties and overhaul burned areas of the structure.

One firefighter was treated and released from a hospital for unspecified injuries.

Lisle-Woodridge units were assisted on the scene by firefighters from Downers Grove, Darien-Woodridge, Lombard, Naperville, Warrenville and Wheaton.
