Police on scene of man barricaded in Wauconda home

  • Wauconda police are on the scene of a subject who barricaded himself into a house Monday night and implied threatening activity police said. Authorities are on the 600 block of East Bonner Road. Only one person is thought to be involved.

Wauconda police are on the scene of a man who has barricaded himself in a house and implied threatening activity, police said.

Authorities are on the 600 block of East Bonner Road, according to the police department's Facebook page. There is only one person involved in the barricade, police said.

 

Police said they believe the man has poured some type of accelerant throughout the house. He also is reported to have injuries, though the extent to which is unknown, police said.

Neighbors located immediately nearby have been evacuated.

"The scene is secure and we will keep the community informed as more information is available," the Facebook post said at 6:30 p.m.
