Batavia church to host Goods & Services FUNdraiser

Join the "Goods & Services FUNdraiser" on Saturday, Oct. 22, in Paxton Hall at the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Ave.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for registration and silent auction. The live auction will start at 7 p.m. In addition to the many items and services available, they will have a 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle of over 28 gift certificates donated by area businesses.

Funds raised at the event will be used for the church's programming and outreach efforts.

The church has partnered with other community organizations to work collaboratively through Fox Valley River Initiative whose mission is to focus local efforts to improve mental health services and supportive housing for the homeless in Kane County, and to work with local law enforcement and gun manufacturers to promote gun safety. The church also has a rich history of helping youth and families in our community.

A year ago, they initiated a program with the help of other local churches, scouting groups and the Batavia public schools to provide lunch and afternoon activities for young schoolchildren on early dismissal days so that kids have a safe, supervised place to eat, study and play while their parents remain at work. Childcare will be available but call the church at (630) 879-1999 if you plan to bring your children.
