Local organizations join in voter outreach program

The Kane County Clerk's Voter Outreach Program is a multifaceted effort to encourage Kane County voters to vote early and/or register to vote.

The program includes voter outreach through theater trailers, social media, and additional means of increasing voter awareness.

The program has encouraged citizens to register and it notifies voters of early voting sites. So far, the number of early voters in 3,479. The clerk is pleased with the response to the program and thanks voters who have voted early in order to reduce potential lines on Election Day, Nov. 8.

Kane County Clerk John Cunningham would like to thank businesses and organizations for allowing his office to use their electronic signs and/or business marquees to promote voter registration and early voting for the upcoming general election.

The following businesses and organizations have made a community effort under the program including: Merlin 200,000 Miles Shops in St. Charles, Aurora and Glendale Heights; DuKane Corp. in St. Charles; South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department; Arcada Theatre in St. Charles; Elgin American Legion Post 57; Maple Park American Legion Post 312; Marmion Academy in Aurora; Walgreens on Randall Road in South Elgin and Indian Trail Road in Aurora; Colonial Cafe restaurant on Randall Road and its headquarters on Dean Street in St. Charles; Randall 15 IMAX Theater in Batavia; Tinseltown USA in North Aurora; Kendall 11 GDX Theater in Oswego; Toyota of St. Charles; Kishwaukee College; Dundee Township; East Dundee Fire Department; Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva; Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District; and Gobble Dogs in Aurora.
