Schaumburg Fall Recycling Event set for Oct. 22

The village of Schaumburg will accept both electronics recycling and oil-based paint recycling for a fee this year at its annual Fall Recycling Event.

The event, for village residents only, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 22, in the west lot of Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg.

Epaint Recycling Solutions will accept both latex and oil-based paint for a fee ranging from $1 to $4 for a quart to $9 to $20 for a 5 gallon container.

Elgin Recycling will accept electronics including computers, small appliances, electronic toys, copper wire and more. Televisions and monitors will incur a fee ranging from $25 to $55 for televisions, depending on the size, and $5 for each LCD monitor. A cracked or broken screen will mean another $5 charge.

Hazardous waste, oil, antifreeze, clothes, fire extinguishers and large appliances will not be accepted. Residents with hazardous waste can utilize the Naperville Household Waste Facility, 156 Fort Hill Drive, Naperville, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
