Report: Mount Prospect woman charged with illegally selling guns
A 22-year-old Mount Prospect woman faces charges for selling guns in Chicago to people who are not allowed to possess a firearm, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
Chicago Police told the Tribune that Simone Mousheh is charged with illegal transfer of firearms and selling firearms to a person who doesn't have a valid state-issued Firearm Owners Identification card.
Mousheh legally purchased a .40-caliber gun, then reported it stolen, police told the Tribune. That gun was later recovered from a juvenile suspect in Chicago, the Tribune reports.
Investigators learned she purchased four firearms within a six-month period, with each weapon costing about $600. She also made a $1,000 cash deposit on a military-style gun capable of firing bullets that can pierce a bulletproof vest, the Tribune reports.
Police also learned Mousheh sold two guns to a Hoffman Estates man with ties to Chicago gangs, police said.
