You're free to protest; I don't have to watch
It's a free country. Everyone is free to express themselves. Disrespecting tradition to get attention. Have at it.
Playing protester on the day true veteran heroes are honored, well, it's a free country.
Using fallen heroes to headline your message, well, it's your free choice.
But once you have your audience's attention, what is the message?
I hope the "disrespecting tradition" does not imply disrespecting the police.
Here is the message one father has conveyed to his children: The police have a tough job. When the police stop you, be polite and do what they tell you to do. Do not argue with them, even if you are 100 percent sure you are right and they are wrong. Cooperate fully. After all is said and done, the courts will figure it out. But when the police stop you, be polite and cooperate fully. The police have a tough job.
Kaepernick, I will not watch you play this year, That is my free choice.
