Girls volleyball

Grant d. Carmel: The visiting Bulldogs won the nonconference match 10-25, 25-20, 26-24.

The loss dropped Carmel to 9-5.

"Credit to Grant for bouncing back and staying aggressive til the end," Corsairs coach David Pazely said.

Lakes d. Wauconda: McKenna Lahr had 13 kills, 7 digs and 1 block, as the visiting Eagles won 25-12, 25-22 in Northern Lake County Conference action.

Lakes (10-3) also received contributions from Rachel Orpano (16 assists, 3 kills), Erica Grant (2 kills, 10 digs), Katie Billletdeaux (5 kills), Kaylee Lebron (4 kills, 1 block), Paige Bartlett (8 digs, 2 aces) and Toyin Jackson (9 digs).

Wauconda (6-9, 1-1) received 3 kills apiece from Lauren Sexton and Sam Sasin. Summer Olsen recorded 10 digs for the Bulldogs.

Maine East d. Vernon Hills: The Cougars lost 25-18, 25-13 to fall to 2-10 and 0-2 in the Central Suburban League North Division.
