Rock the night away with Lance Lipinsky & the Lovers

Finger snapping and toe tapping will be inevitable when the Schaumburg Park District's Community Recreation Center is transformed into a rockabilly dance hall.

A Dinner Concert with Lance Lipinsky & the Lovers is set for 5-8 p.m., Sept. 24, at the CRC, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Lipinsky has portrayed his hero, piano pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis in the Tony-award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet.

"When I first saw Lance in Million Dollar Quartet, I was moved by his explosive energy, dynamic personality and beautiful vocals," said Cultural Arts Supervisor Beth Waller. "His performance took me back to a time when rock 'n' roll ruled and I knew then and there I needed to bring him to Schaumburg."

Dinner features a buffet including fried chicken, roast beef, roast pork loin, au gratin potatoes, squash, green beans, taffy apple salad, rolls and a relish tray.

The District's Bravo Show Choir and jazz band will perform as the opening act.

"There will be plenty of room to dance, so if you're like me and can't sit still when there is fantastic music playing, you'll want to jump up and move," Waller said. "This will be a great evening of fun."

The event is open to concert goers 13 and older. Tickets are $47 per person and may be purchased at the CRC.
