Schaumburg Boomers set season attendance record
The Schaumburg Boomers set a new franchise attendance record of 172,996 fans during their fifth season, which ended over the Labor Day weekend.
The average game attendance of 3,604 fans at Boomers Stadium led the entire Frontier League the team plays in for a third consecutive season, and marked a 17 percent increase from 2015.
Also, for the second time in the team's short history, the Boomers were selected by the Frontier League as its 2016 Organization of the Year.
“The Boomers franchise now has tremendous momentum,” team owner Pat Salvi said in a written statement. “In just our first five years of existence we have vaulted to the top of the Frontier League in attendance, sponsorships and stature. We are not going to rest on our laurels. We have an experienced and talented front office that includes our own outstanding food and beverage company.”
