Help the forest preserve district with weekly seed harvests

Help the Forest Preserve District of Kane County harvest seeds from forest preserves throughout the fall season.

Seed harvesting is a restoration technique that not only helps keep the forest preserves flourishing but saves thousands of dollars.

Join them from 10 a.m. to noon every Wednesday, from Aug. 24 through Nov. 2, as they harvest seed. Natural resources staff will give you lessons and the tools needed to help with the weekly harvests.

These fun and rewarding activities are great for team-building events, exercise, volunteer hours, and for spending time in nature.

Participants will visit a different forest preserve each week. Locations will be posted on the Facebook page. Harvests are weather dependent.
