Leaders must work to control national debt

We should be asking our political canadates how they plan to reduce our national debt? It's $19 trillon and still growing.

Two political conventions and what did we learn? They just attack each other. They allways compare our debt to the gross domestic product, which does not pay off our national debt. It's the federal revenue that is controlled by Congress through spending and tax revenue.

We should be asking what budget cuts will they make and what tax increase will they make to get the federal debt reduced.

Last year we paid more than $223 billion in interest on our debt and debt grew by $600 billion. What happens when interest goes up? And it will.

Our fisical stablity is in trouble if something isn't done now to both reduce spending and raise taxes. We can't keep ignoring our debt and pushing it on to the next generation.

We are the most indebted country in the world. Our politicans need to get real and tell us their plans on reducing the debt.
