Plenty of food to sample at Taste of Roselle

If you're going to call your weekend festival the Taste of Roselle, it's a good idea to have plenty of food vendors on hand.

And that was exactly the case Saturday as visitors could check out everything from seafood gumbo to lo mein to chicken wings just a few steps from each other along Main Street between Roselle Road and Howard Avenue.

For those who filled up early, there was still plenty to do: carnival rides, bingo, a craft fair and live entertainment.

But the highlight had to be the roughly 30 food vendors on hand. And they'll be back today for the Taste's final day from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Taste of Roselle started as a downtown street party 35 years ago before evolving into the event it is today.

Proceeds from the fest are donated to local community improvement projects.

Admission to the festival grounds is free. For details, visit roselle.il.us.
