The winning images of our weekly photo contest

I took this at the Morton Arboretum Children's Garden. I had just bought a new zoom lens for my Nikon D3000, and I jokingly told my wife we weren't leaving until I got a shot of a frog on a lily pond. This fellow obliged and calmly posed while I zoomed to 250mm. "Ribbit"! Mark Sand of Wheaton

While visiting Pittsburgh last week, I was able to capture this trolley car traversing down to the riverfront. In days past, the trolley was used to bring workers down to the river's edge to work and back to the cars at the end of day. Now it is for tourist rides only. The bright red of the trolley complements nicely the bridge and the Pittsburgh downtown in the background. Tony Lyons of Wheaton
I took this photo in February, 2015 when my husband and I were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with friends we had the great fortune of being on a whale watching tour where we saw countless humpback whales incredibly close up. The whales put on such a show that our tour lasted an hour longer than scheduled because the tour guides had never seen so much activity at one time. Tami Bone of Geneva
I traveled to Arizona over the 4th of July weekend for my niece's wedding and took a little side trip to Page, site of this iconic view of the Colorado River. It's a short hike off the main road into town, but well worth the effort. Tom Nicol of Geneva
Here is a photo that I took at festival park in Elgin on July Fourth. Hope you like it. Bill Brown of Elgin
