Streamwood man gets three years for 5th DUI

A Streamwood man, who authorities say has DUI convictions dating back to 1986, pleaded guilty to his fifth DUI.

In exchange for his guilty plea Monday, Humberto Rodriguez, 51, was sentenced to four years in prison, court records show. Rodriguez also pleaded guilty to driving on a revoked license for which he was sentenced to three years in prison. He will serve the sentences concurrently.

Rodriguez was ordered to pay $1,884 in fines.

Hanover Park police arrested Rodriguez in January following a minor traffic infraction, prosecutors said. Rodriguez, who police said smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes, failed field sobriety tests and declined a breath test, according to prosecutors. They said police recovered an open can of beer in the front seat and a can of beer attached to six-ring holder in the back seat.
