Lakefest continues at Island Lake's Water Tower Park

A car show and fireworks were the Saturday's highlights of Lakefest in Island Lake.

The three-day festival, which began Friday, continued in Water Tower Park featuring rides, games, food and a Lions Club beer tent. Dash plaques were given to the first 50 entries in the car show. Trophies were also given out.

Food was provided by Lukes of Mundelein, Julie Ann's Custard and the Island Lake Lionesses. Musical entertainment was provided by DJ Wayne and Pirates Over 40 Band.

The fest continues from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
