Streamwood police are investigating a crash Saturday night that left two pedestrians hospitalized with head injuries, authorities said Monday.

The crash occurred about 9:50 p.m., when a vehicle traveling west on Irving Park Road from McKool Avenue hit an adult man and adult woman as they were walking in the Irving Park median, police said.

The woman, a 32-year-old Streamwood resident, was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates by the Streamwood Fire Department, where she is being treated for head injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

The man, a 36-year-old also from Streamwood, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. He also suffered head injuries and remains in serious condition, according to police.

The vehicle's 21-year-old driver and her 19-year-old passenger were not injured.

Members of the Serious Traffic Crash Reconstruction (S.T.A.R) team were called to assist in the traffic crash reconstruction, police said.
