One of the few good guys in the viper pit

A recent letter to the editor sought to blame Jack Franks for the troubles in Illinois and for our high taxes. What an insult to any well-informed voter.

Jack Franks has been and remains the one true champion of the taxpayers. Franks single-handedly stopped Madigan's millionaire tax and Madigan's progressive income tax. Franks has challenged Madigan and is the only member of the general assembly to have noted no on the state budgets every year because they were unbalanced - the only one.

Franks is one of the few good guys in the viper pit known as Springfield. Just last year his own Senator Althoff hijacked his government consolidation bill so she could protect her friends on the government payroll. Franks took the extraordinary remedy of having Althoff removed as the senate sponsor and his law just recently passed.

Jack Franks can now implement his creative ideas to save taxpayers money as the chairman of the county board. He will not be at the mercy of other legislators or a reluctant governor. Franks will be able to call the shots and truly reform our government. That is something we should all be thankful for - an elected official on our side for a change.
