The Blackhawks came to terms with forward Brandon Mashinter and defenseman Michal Rozsival on Thursday to one-year contracts. Reports have Mashinter's deal at $600,000 and Rozsival's at $575,000.
This will be the fifth season in Chicago for Rozsival, who will be 38 in September. He's averaged 53 games played the past three seasons.
Mashinter, 27, scored 4 goals in 41 games last year. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound winger was a healthy scratch in eight of the last 16 games. He was named team captain of the AHL Rockford IceHogs at the beginning of the season.
Free agency opens Friday with teams able to sign players beginning at 11 a.m. Central time.
