8 people hospitalized after 6-vehicle crash on I-90

Eight people were hospitalized Sunday after a six-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer truck on the Jane Addams Tollway (Interstate 90) in Schaumburg, according to Illinois State Police.

The crash occurred about 3:10 p.m. east of Roselle Road when the driver of a semitrailer truck failed to slow down and hit five other vehicles that were reducing speed in traffic, police said.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
 

Two lanes were closed until 4:35 p.m. while authorities investigated the crash, police said. Delays stretched past Barrington Road.

Eight people were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, police said.

Charges have not yet been filed, police said, and the crash remains under investigation.
