Vernon Hills Indian Association Host Festival of Colors

More than 700 people attended the Festival of Colors Celebration of Holi hosted by Vernon Hills Indian Association afternoon of Saturday April 9th at Century Park North in Vernon Hills.

The sun was bright and festivities continued with children activities, food, performances by small children as well as Arya & Dwance Dance Academy. After months of planning, the event brought out the best of the Vernon Hills Indian Association board members and its volunteers.

Anshul Bindal, president of the association, said the "Holi event was a grand success, there is a shy of more than 100 families who are active member's and growing".

Many locals and people from all parts of Chicago including southern Wisconsin & Indiana attended the event along with guests as such Congressman Bob Dold, Mayor of Vernon Hills Roger Byrne, Lake County State Attorney Mike Nerhiem, U.S. Senator Office Mark Kirk and many others.

Mehul Rami energized the ambiance with his Dhol while music expert Peter Jakal was calibrating the sound system. There was cloud of colors while participants enjoyed dancing to the Bollywood rhythms and Holi songs.

Association member Kapil Sabharwal claimed "What a great show, best Holi ever in U.S. Kuddos to super leadership and teamwork".
