Highwood MS Foundation holds first Walk to Find a Cure

Rosey's M.S. Foundation, a Highwood-based organization devoted to finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and related auto-immune diseases, is holding its inaugural benefit walk on Sunday, April 10, titled "Nip MS in the Bud/Walk for a Cure."

The event will take place at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Registration will be at 7:30 a.m., and the walk will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Rosey's is a not-for-profit 501(C)3 organization, that seeks to help find a cure for the 4 million people in the world living with multiple sclerosis. To give a face to the organization, Rosey's uses the story of Mark Rosenblum, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 29 years ago and holds out hope for its cure despite enduring countless symptoms of MS including relapses, fatigue, limited mobility and muscle spasms.

The money raised goes directly to fight MS, since none of Rosey's board members, staff or patients are the direct beneficiaries of the donations that Rosey's receives. All the funds raised go to Dr. Stephen Miller and his research team at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Department of Microbiology-Immunology. To this end, Rosey's is working with Northwestern University's crowd funding platform.
