Folk musician Tom Neilson to perform April 9 in Geneva

On Sunday, April 9, Geneva will again welcome Tom Neilson, a popular folk musician who performs political satire, parody, and general social commentary. The concert will be performed at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 110 S. Second St.

Tickets may be purchased at the door for $10. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Using humor, compassion, and outrage, Neilson will perform songs about a variety of themes concerning the world and the environment.

As one reviewer noted, "No worthy cause goes unnoticed by Tom." Another commented, "the sophistication of his writing brings together some of the finest components of song and comedy, and has resulted in his winning several music awards.

Most recently, Neilson won an Independent Music Awards Song of the Year for his song about whistleblowing, "It's a Crime." The song is available at his website at www.tomneilsonmusic.com.

Known for his generous support of social change groups, Tom has agreed to donate proceeds from the concert to the Fox River Ecosystem Partnership, whose mission is to promote, preserve, protect, and enhance the natural, cultural, economic, and recreational resources of the Fox River Watershed.
