Absurd to let state control local pensions

I couldn't agree more with the comments by Brian DeWolf (Another inept solution) about Sen. Dan Duffy's proposal for the state of Illinois to take control of local police and fire pensions.

Are you serious? The state of Illinois is billions upon billions of dollars in debt because of the incompetence of those in Springfield, and now you want to take control of local pensions.

Inept politicians have run Illinois financially into the ground and your solution is to borrow from Peter to pay Paul. Why don't you and your counterparts quit spending money that doesn't exist?

The state's solution to financial problems has always been to increase taxes on hardworking people and then misspend it.

Illinois has more debt than any other state in the nation. Perhaps you and your political cohorts should lose your egos, stop worrying about your political careers, and start working on viable solutions for our problems.
