Injured Crawford to miss Friday's Blackhawks game at Winnipeg
Struggling with a four-game losing streak, the Blackhawks now must try to snap it with goalie Corey Crawford.
Team officials announced Thursday that Crawford has an upper-body injury and will not make the trip to Winnipeg for Friday's game. Crawford's status is “day to day.”
As a result the Hawks recalled 35-year-old goalie Michael Leighton from Rockford. Leighton has a 28-8-8 record in 46 starts with the IceHogs this season, with a 2.44 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
Scott Darling was in net for the Blackhawks in Wednesday's 3-2 home loss to the red-hot Philadelphia Flyers. Darling made 26 saves against the Flyers, who have gone 9-1-1 in their last 11 games.
