Can we count on this candidate?

During the summer and fall of 2013, my community was embroiled in a battle to stop the development of a mega gas station next to our cherished Butterfield Park District. This project would have adversely impacted the environment, air quality and ambience, for the children that attend essential programs at the park and pool.

Fortunately, The DuPage County Development Committee and county board agreed with the residents and voted to protect the children. No gas station.

District 4 county board members, Amy Grant and JR McBride, worked tirelessly on this issue and it was because of those efforts that a satisfactory outcome was achieved.

Shortly after the county's decision, the developer's attorney, Tim Elliott, filed a lawsuit against the county to once again try and push through the development. Today, Tim Elliott, is running for the county board seat once held by the now deceased JR McBride. What an interesting turn of events.

The question is, can we count on Tim Elliott to represent us the way we could depend on JR McBride? History would seem to indicate not.
