Rust-Oleum in Vernon Hills buys Florida company

Paint manufacturer Rust-Oleum Corp. announced that it is buying a Florida company to expand its line of concrete care products.

Rust-Oleum based in Vernon Hills acquired Seal-Krete, a manufacturer of concrete care coatings and sealants. For more than 30 years, Seal-Krete, based in Auburndale, Florida, has been the in the business of weatherproofing protection for concrete and masonry. The company offers professional contractors and do-it-yourselfers a complete line of concrete and masonry weatherproofing coatings developed for surface protection and beautification of residential and commercial concrete surfaces.

"Seal-Krete expands our range of concrete care products, complementing our existing RockSolid and EpoxyShield lines," said Tom Reed, president and chief operating officer of Rust-Oleum. The Seal-Krete brand is sold nationwide in home centers and hardware stores.

For nearly a century, Rust-Oleum has been a global leader in manufacturing innovative coatings that empower do-it-yourselfers and professionals alike across categories including small project paints, cleaners, primers, automotive, industrial, high performance coatings and wood care.
