Join the annual crane count
A workshop for the Midwest Crane Count for monitors in Lake and McHenry counties will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Volo Bog State Natural Area in Ingleside. The workshop will cover observation methods and reporting protocol (new system this year) and share a few stories of past counts. New monitors will receive location assignments for actual count Saturday, April 16. Participants must be 16 and older. Reservations required by email at dnr.volobog@illinois.gov or phone (815) 344-1294. Volo Bog is on Brandenburg Road west off Route 12, between routes 120 and 134.
