Prosecutors: Downers Grove man shared thousands of child porn images

A Downers Grove man charged with storing and sharing thousands of pornographic images of children is being held on $100,000 bail in DuPage County.

Anthony Damaska, 28, of the 600 block of Sherman Street, is charged with dissemination of child pornography and possession of child pornography,

Prosecutors said Naperville police officers, while working on an ongoing investigation in August 2015, located an IP address originating from the Downers Grove area containing a high volume of possible child pornography downloads.

A search warrant of Damaska's home then produced thousands of images containing child pornography, authorities said.

"Child pornography is not a victimless crime," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a written statement. "Every image and every video allegedly possessed by (Damaska) represents yet another innocent victim of child pornography."

Damaska's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 29 in front of Judge John Kinsella. Should Damaska post bail, he is prohibited from having contact with children younger than 18 and accessing the Internet.
