Spreading a crazed picture of America

The tough on terrorism Republicans won't deny suspected terrorists, on no-fly lists, their right to buy assault weapons because one of their owners, the NRA, doesn't want to prevent anyone from buying guns.

This is "supported" by the over 200 year old right for farmers to have a musket lest they are attacked by the British or a bear. The Founding Fathers couldn't have imagined a "mass shooting."

And Donald Trump wanting to ban all Muslims, to a cheering crowd, has made an ISIS recruiting video while saying the president doesn't have a clue. That this would be impossible to do doesn't matter. Trump is just in the business of spreading fear and hatred, feeding the basest base.

You would think either of these things would be deal breakers and open people's eyes. And, unfortunately, the list of stupidity is much longer. The president, as he should be, is being the grown-up. The Internet and TV spread this crazed picture of America to the world - yes, we are only one nation in a great big world. We all need to grow up and use some common sense.
