KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation awards grants totaling $50,000 to Habitat, The Sunshine Kids

The KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group, announced that they will awarding grants of $25,000 each to Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that partners with individuals in need of affordable housing throughout the Chicago region, and $25,000 to The Sunshine Kids, a national nonprofit organization that offers a variety of programs for children that are battling cancer.

Grant funds were raised through the support of hundreds of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group agent and employee contributions.

"We're very excited to present checks to both Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity and The Sunshine Kids to help aid the incredible work that both organizations do to better the community," said Joe Stacy, chairman of the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation. "It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to partner with these two organizations this year on numerous events, and we are looking forward to seeing how we can do even more to assist them in 2016."

Stacy, along with his colleagues, participated in Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity's Building On! initiative, which engaged corporate sponsors and employee groups to build Habitat homes across the region. The residents were presented with their homes in special dedication ceremonies in November 2015.

The KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation also partnered with The Sunshine Kids on their first series of events in Chicago this past September, providing a special day for children at Lurie's Children's Hospital and the following day enjoying a day at Wrigley Field with Sunshine Kids to watch the Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds.
