Glen Ellyn's Dan Kochnar Captains BigTen Golf

Brooke Kochevar, a GWHS alum and current University of Maryland varsity golfer competed in the USGA Women's Open Qualifier at Governors Club, Chapel Hill, NC this past August. Governors Club and former Glen Ellyn resident, Lowell Hoffman joined Brooke's father, Dan Kochevar, Illinois PGA teacher of the year in following the match. Governors Club features a Jack Nicklaus Signature 27 hole golf course.

Dan, an Indiana University golfer alum, returned to Chapel Hill to Captain the BigTen squad in the 9th Annual BigTen ACC Charity Golf Challenge, chaired by Lowell and a fixture of the Club's golf calendar.

Dan Kochevar is PGA Director of Instruction at The Players Service Golf Academy in Oak Brook.

Governors Club membership includes alums from every BigTen school and a large contingent who have lived and worked in the Western Suburbs. Lowell and Ruth were residents of Wheaton, Aurora and Glen Ellyn who are remembered for their active involvement in many organizations including Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus / Anima.

Although the ACC won the match, local charities benefited including the Governors Club Chair in Pediatric Cardiology at UNC.
