WAYS offers 'The Many Faces of Domestic Violence' seminar

Wayne/Winfield Area Youth/Family Services (WAYS) is pleased to announce our Continuing Education topic, "The Many Faces of Domestic Violence" which will be held on Wednesday December 16, 2015 from 10am-12pm. This Continuing Education seminar for 2 units will be presented by Tikaya Young, BA, ICDVP, Educator, Family Shelter Services.

This presentation will provide clinicians with information and discussions on the topic of domestic violence. Discuss will involve looking for forms of domestic violence that are less commonly recognized and how to identify when clients are struggling with this type of domestic violence. Discusses will also include how to talk to clients about these issues and how to best help them in these situations. An interactive activity will help clinicians to understand what it is like to be in the shoes of the client who is experiencing the domestic violence situation.

WAYS provides individual, family, and group therapy in English and Spanish; anger management, and parenting classes; senior services; summer day camp; and tutoring. WAYS is a community based not-for-profit agency serving West Chicago, Winfield, Warrenville, Wayne, Bartlett, Hanover Park, and Carol Stream. Funding is provided by Wayne Township, Winfield Township, Village of Hanover Park, ECOLAB Employees Foundation, DuPage Community Foundation, client fees, insurance, donations and community fund raisers.
