Holiday model train display returns to Sun City Nov. 21

The Kishwaukee Valley & Eakin Creek Model Railroad Club will open its traditional holiday display on Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Prairie Lodge Social Lounge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd., Huntley.

Trains will run earlier this year, starting Nov. 21 (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) through Sunday Dec. 27. Weekday running times generally will be 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and weekend running times will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. On some days, they may have extended hours depending on other activities in the lodge.

Once again, they will sponsor a raffle for three Lionel trains. This year's model will be a Lionel O Gauge New York Central Passenger Train. The raffle will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23; winners need not be present. So bring your kids, grandkids and cameras and spend some time enjoying this holiday tradition with the trains.

The Railroad Club is proud to sponsor this holiday event and they invite all Sun City residents, their family and friends, as well as residents of neighboring communities, to this annual tradition. The event is free but they do ask that all children be accompanied by an adult.

Interested patrons can call the club's message center at (847) 669-2392 to learn more details of the Holiday Display or they can check out the Sun City website at sccah.com.
