Mount Prospect Jaycees Supports the Wounded Warrior Project with 52nd Turkey Trot

Mount Prospect, IL (November 11th, 2015) - The Mount Prospect Jaycees announce that a portion of every Turkey Trot registration in October and November will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

"The Mount Prospect Jaycees have a long standing history of making a difference in the lives of others. We want to do something special that reflects the commitment our running community has towards this cause," said Linda Murbach, President of the Mount Prospect Jaycees. " Part of the Jaycees Creed is that service to humanity is the best work of life and we strive to make a difference in the lives of those who have bravely sacrificed for our safety.

The Turkey Trot will be celebrating its 51st year on November 26th, 2015. Racers can compete in a 1 mile, 2 mile, or 4 mile race. This annual event is the longest continuous running race in the Chicagoland area and not to be missed. The race will be held at Melas Park (1500 Central Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL.) Start times for the races: 1 mile at 9:15Am, 2 miles at 9:30 Am, and 4 miles at 10:00 Am. Check in for the races begins at 8:00 Am. Registration cost for adults is $25 and $15 for ages 14 years and under. T-Shirts will be provided for the first 300 registered entrants."Due to tremendous popularity of this event in the past, all runners are urged to pre-register for this event.", said Becca Easley, Chairwoman of the Turkey Trot. "Runners from all over the country come to compete in this family fun event."

In addition to the race the Jaycees will be also be collecting new unwrapped toys to be donated to children and families in need during the holidays. Also a 50/50 Cash raffle to benefit the fight again Wounded Warrior will be held. Raffle tickets at $2 a piece or 6 tickets for $10.
