A bicyclist from Lombard was struck and killed Sunday evening when he apparently rode into the intersection against the light at Route 83 and 16th Street in Oak Brook and was struck by a car driven by a Westmont man, authorities said.

Police identified the bicyclist only as a man in his 40s.

The driver of the car was not injured. Police said he provided a statement at the police department and was released.

The Felony Investigative Assistance Team was contacted and responded to the scene to assist the Oak Brook Police Department and conduct a crash reconstruction and investigation.
