Sagent debuts injection drug

SCHAUMBURG - Sagent Pharmaceuticals Inc. Wednesday announced the launch of chlorothiazide codium for injection, a diuretic/antihypertensive agent in single-dose vial. It is used for therapy for edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and corticosteroid and estrogen therapy.

Chlorothiazide sodium for injection has also been found useful in edema due to various forms of renal dysfunction, such as nephrotic syndrome, acute glomerulonephritis, and chronic renal failure, according to the company.
