Wauconda to host Trick or Treat on Main Street

Downtown Wauconda invites all local individuals and families to the fourth annual Trick-or-Treat on Main Street, from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25.

Fun for all ages, this event will bring all fall festivities together on Main Street, including a haunted house, petting zoo, games and more.

The village of Wauconda, Wauconda Park District and local businesses welcome all adults, children and pets to free event. Main Street will be closed to traffic.

Local businesses will host trick-or-treating, so don't forget your costume.

Bark 'n' Town will host the fourth annual pet costume contest and pet parade. Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants, and adults and children are encouraged to participate with their pups. Preregistration forms and parade policies are available online at media.barkntown.com/2015_Registration_Form.pdf, or pick up a form at 27607 W. Brandenburg Road, Ingleside.

Entertainment events and times include:

• Noon to 2 p.m.: Pumpkin carving contest drop off (at the park district beach house)

• 2-5 p.m.: Carved pumpkin judging

• 2-3 p.m.: Pet costume contest registration

• 3:30 p.m.: Pet Costume Contest And Parade presented by Bark 'N' Town Pet Resort and Day Spa

• 5:15 p.m.: "Monster Mash" performance presented by Academy of Ballet

• 5:30 p.m.: Pumpkin contest awards

Pizza tossing, a haunted bus and an artisan craft fair are just a few other events throughout the day as well, along with lots of food and vendors to provide easy access to information about local businesses for future visits. Fire, police and public works displays will allow individuals to learn about the local community.
