Author appearances: Meet Nicholas Sparks at Downers Grove's Tivoli

• Twelve-time New York Times best-selling author Nicholas Sparks ("The Notebook") discusses his writing career and his newest novel, "See Me," at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Ave., Downers Grove.
