A personal approach to political office
Maybe the time has come for a VFO force in politics (Vote For Ourselves). We usually vote for the candidate who most reflects our views. The only person who reflects our views 100 percent is ourselves.
This might reduce some of the vitriol in politics - we would be asking people not to vote for us. This might reduce some of the disappointment in politics - we would always know when our candidate was going to change their mind on an issue.
We are all individuals with different life histories, and our politics are somewhat reflected from those life histories. Maybe the time has come when 100 people, each receiving 1 vote, is a more powerful force than a candidate receiving 99 votes through an organized party.
This might weaken the force of money in politics - 100 people occupying a position which pays $35,000 would mean each person only receives $350.00.
Anyway, this is just a small modest proposal to give a little less power to the organized parties, and a little bit more power to the Individual.
