Girls volleyball: Dundee-Crown topples Crystal Lake South
Dundee-Crown's girls volleyball team scored a big win in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division Tuesday night, knocking off division defending co-champion Crystal Lake South 25-22, 25-19.
Bre Nowak had 8 kills and 4 digs and Emma Brant added 6 kills for the Chargers (7-2, 1-0). Frankie Cavallaro had 16 assists and Zoe Sitarz led the defense with 10 digs.
Jordan Proszenyak had 8 kills, Kendall Kilberger 14 assists and Madison Dahl 6 digs to lead CL South (5-5, 1-1).
Burlington Central d. Richmond-Burton: Megan Lomas had 8 kills with Lexi VanHiel and Summer Smith adding 7 each to lead the Rockets (5-2, 1-0) to a 21-25, 25-22, 25-15 Big Northern East win. Leah Murphy added 5 kills for BC and Lexi DeWaard had 29 assists.
Wheaton Academy d. St. Edward: Dominique Washington had 6 kills and 4 digs for St. Edward (6-3, 1-1) in a 25-17, 25-15 Metro Suburban West loss.
Huntley d. Jacobs: Erin Erb had 8 kills and Bre Jareb 11 digs to lead Huntley (5-3, 1-0) to a 26-24, 25-15 FVC Valley win. Kristy Swanson added 11 assists and Alyson Dion had 8 for the Red Raiders. Bridget Wallenberger had 5 kills for Jacobs.
West Aurora d. Elgin: Jordyn Poppen had 11 kills and Gillian Jones added 5 kills and 7 digs to lead the Blackhawks (11-3) to a 25-13, 25-16 Upstate Eight crossover win. Allie Greenwood added 7 digs and Loren Howey 5 for West Aurora. Emily Huprich had 7 assists for Elgin (2-7).
Larkin d. Streamwood: Juliana Kurywczak had 7 kills and April McGhee 9 digs to lead the Royals (2-3, 1-1) to a UEC River win. Natalie Kofie had 25 assists for Larkin and Kayla Armour added 6 kills. Jessica Daley had 17 digs to lead Streamwood.
South Elgin d. Bartlett: Kelly Harris and Megan Regan had 6 kills each and Andie Sobotka added 22 digs for Bartlett in a 25-21, 25-22 UEC Valley loss. Almira Khan had 17 assists for the Hawks (5-5-1, 0-2).
Christian Liberty d. Westminster Christian: Elise VanNoord had 9 kills and Grace Bickford added 8 kills and 7 digs for Westminster in a 27-25, 25-23 Northeastern Athletic Conference loss. Emily Lamp added 23 assists and Melanie Izquierdo added 10 digs for the Warriors (2-6, 0-1).
Rosary d. Newark: Erin Burke had 9 kills and Maya Sullivan added 6 to lead Rosary (4-3) to a 25-14, 25-21 nonconference win. Kennedy Jenig had 19 digs for the Royals.
Harvest Christian d. Rockford Christian Life: Ellie Burzlaff and Mikayla Robinson had 6 kills each to power Harvest (5-3, 2-0) to a 25-10, 25-15 NAC win, Hannah Murray added 19 assists for the Lions.
