Green Oaks woman reported missing

A Green Oaks woman suffering from Alzheimer's was reported missing and endangered Monday, police said.

Mitsuko “Mikko” Washinushi, 77, was last seen by family members about 8:30 a.m. Monday in her home on the 1800 block of White Fence Lane, Green Oaks police said in a news release. When her family returned at about noon, she was no longer home.

Washinushi is 5 feet 3 inches and 105 lbs., and has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a light blue or white sweater, black leggings, and gray/blue tennis shoes. Washinushi walks with a limp and slightly hunched.

An individual matching Washinushi's description was last seen at about 2 p.m. walking in the area of North River Road and Guerin Road outside Libertyville, police said.

It's believed she left on foot and became confused, forgetting her way home. Washinushi also suffers from other medical conditions.
