Soldiers forgotten amid criminal news
Something is really wrong in this country. When a woman who died in jail can get a street named in her honor yet a soldier dies for his country defending your freedoms and he is all but forgotten.
I guess in the "New America" you have to be a criminal to be honored. My children were raised to always do the right thing. They both went on to serve their country. You know, the one percent.
I am a Gold Star Mother (Christopher Patterson, killed in action 01/06/12).
We will spend hours on the news and whole pages in the papers on the criminals. Yet can't waste the space or time to remember and honor those that protect the freedoms given to the papers and news.
This past weekend there was a large gathering in Mokena to remember PFC Aaron Toppen. Yet only one local paper covered the event and even their coverage was tiny. But hey disobey the police, get arrested and you are front page news. America, we are lost.
