It's all about teamwork for Oak Grove seventh-graders

Rope games, a climbing wall, teams course, boating, archery and more were all part of a team-building day for Oak Grove Middle School students Thursday.

In all, 107 of 111 seventh-graders participated in the event at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside.

"The day is about getting kids to encourage each other and work together," said Barb Banduch, a math teacher at Oak Grove.

The school sends the seventh grade class twice a year for a day trip to the camp. This is the 13th year of the team-building event at Camp Duncan, according to Banduch.

"It's a way for us to break the ice in the fall and then we come back with them in the spring, as well, where we do different activities. They look forward to it. It's pretty rare that somebody didn't like it," Banduch said.
