West Aurora schools chief gets 6 percent raise
West Aurora Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Craig has received a four-year contract extension and a 6 percent pay raise.
The school board approved the extension Monday night.
Craig will be paid $201,400 a year. Hie will be eligible for raises of no more than 6 percent each of the next three years. He will also receive a car allowance of $500 a month.
Craig joined the district in 2014. He had been a superintendent in an Iowa school district, and before that was principal of Oswego East High School.
He will receive 12 sick days, three personal days and 20 vacation days a year. Unused vacation days each year will be converted to sick days. He can accumulate up to 340 sick days.
The board also agreed to pay for dues to a "reasonable" amount of professional organizations. It also agreed to pay for memberships to civic, fraternal and local organizations, with prior approval by the board.
