Two hurt when motorcycle hits deer in Wauconda

Two people on a motorcycle were injured when they struck and killed a deer Friday night in Wauconda, officials said.

Crews were called around 8:15 p.m. for the crash on Route 12 south of Route 59, according to Fire Lt. Warner Russell.

The two people on the motorcycle were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Russell said.

Southbound Route 12 between Route 59 and Ivanhoe was closed for a while Friday night because of the crash. The Wauconda Police Department is investigating.
