This year's winners included Jacobs High School graduates Eraj Din and Alaina Dunn, Bartlett High School graduate Isha Patel, Streamwood High School graduate Alejandra Pineda, and Hampshire High School graduate Katelyn Schoedl.

Din has had her scholarship renewed by the auxiliary each of the past three years. She is currently a fourth-year medical student majoring in pediatric-neonatal critical care at Benedictine University in Lisle.

Dunn graduated from Jacobs High School at the top of her class and has been accepted into the direct-admission program for nursing at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis.

Patel graduated from Bartlett High School with a 4.2-grade point average and has been directly admitted to Saint Louis University. She placed first in Health Occupation Students of America, and is passionate about helping others.

Pineda graduated from Streamwood High School with a 4.5-grade point average and will be attending the University of Miami in the fall. She hopes to one day be an oncologist at a highly regarded hospital.

Schoedl ranked fifth in her class at Hampshire High School and will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign this fall to pursue a career as an electrical engineer specializing in biomedical imaging, bioengineering and acoustics.

The Auxiliary of Advocate Sherman Hospital is a group of volunteers raising money to support the hospital and the community. The group raised more than $1 million for the birthing center, along with many others areas.
