David Adler Music and Arts Center Announces Benefit Featuring Best of Lake County

The David Adler Music and Arts Center has announced its 2015 benefit.

On Saturday, May 16, from 6-10 p.m., the historic home of renowned architect David Adler will be transformed into the A-list Speakeasy, transporting guests back to the Prohibition Era for a fun-filled evening featuring fine art, live jazz, food and spirits.

Established area artists will donate original works of art to the benefit's silent art auction. Paintings, prints, fiber art and more will be featured as guests enjoy the culinary creations of Chef Lee Kuebler of Libertyville's Milwalky Trace. Sunset Foods and Shakou Shushi will also provide their most popular offerings. Mundelein's Tighthead Brewing Company will feature its fine craft beers along with wine and signature cocktails.

Guys and dolls can cut the rug to classic jazz favorites performed by the 17-piece Highland Park Pops Big Band.

"It will be an evening of dancing, bourbon-tastings, and great art. It's a fun night out and a great way to give back and support the Adler Center," says Heather Williamson, program coordinator.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person. A secret password is required to attend, and tickets must be purchased in advance by visiting www.adlercenter.org.

This is the Adler Center's only annual benefit, which will maintain and grow the center's offerings of art and music instruction, summer camps, workshops, concerts and art exhibitions. The Adler Center offers scholarships and free art exhibits, and hosts communitywide events like Fine Arts Month and the Annual Festival of the Arts held every August in Cook Park.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life in the North Shore community. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

The David Adler Music and Arts Center is at 1700 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
