Barrington masseuse faces another sex abuse charge

Barrington police and prosecutors have filed a second charge of criminal sexual abuse against the owner of a Barrington massage therapy studio for an offense they say occurred about a month and a half before his first charge.

Michael S. Greenfield, 55, of Lake in the Hills received a $10,000 bond at a hearing in Cook County court Friday. He is the owner of Sole2Soul Bodywork at 1250 S. Grove Ave. in Barrington.

Police say the new charge stems from an offense reported by a 54-year-old woman that occurred during a massage on Jan. 15.

Barrington Police Chief David Dorn said the woman came forward after she learned that Greenfield received a similar felony charge of sexual abuse of another female client during a March 3 appointment.

Dorn said there are no other allegations against Greenfield that his department is investigating, but he added anyone with knowledge of similar incidents should call (847) 304-3300.

Though the massage studio has been closed since the first charge was filed, Greenfield remains in possession of his state-issued massage license. A hearing was held Friday on the possible revocation of Greenfield's license.

Dorn said a written decision is required to revoke the license, which could arrive as soon as Monday.
